The Nonviolent Communication Educators Institute invites educators from all over the world to join us for an amazing opportunity.   In our 17th year, TEACH FOR LIFE! is an immersive curriculum of Nonviolent Communication principles and practices applied to a classroom setting.  
As a training, Teach for Life! provides educational professionals with practical experience in a beautiful, nurturing retreat environment.  Participants learn hands-on processes for facilitating vibrant and compassionate classrooms – places where students, teachers and parents thrive.

Who Should Apply?

Teach for Life! is designed for Pre-K through University-level classroom instructors who know the value of cultivating prosocial behavior in their classroom.

Teach for Life! Training Team:

Sura Hart, Jared Finkelstein, and Jennifer Warnick are certified trainers with the international Center for Nonviolent Communication and they are assisted by Sarah Sievert and Kent Siebold. All have trained with Marshall Rosenberg and many other NVC trainers around the world.



Menucha Retreat Center, Corbett, Oregon
Surrounded by natural beauty, and a rich history, and just 30 minutes from downtown Portland, Menucha Retreat Center feels like a world away. Located on a hundred acre sanctuary in the Columbia River Gorge and sitting atop one of the nation’s most spectacular rivers, this is a place where bald eagles soar above old growth conifers, and where trails may lead to heirloom gardens, perennial springs or spectacular views.

We are now accepting applications for our 2018 sessions!

Lodging at the retreat is in shared room. Each room has a queen size bed, two twin beds and a private bathroom.

There are a limited number of single rooms available for an additional fee.

Tuition: Fee includes tuition, lodging, meals, and materials.
Early Bird Rate: $1450 (Early Bird Tuition must be paid in full by April 15, 2018)
Full Rate: $1550 (applies after April 15, 2018)
Scholarship: Contact us about the availability of scholarship funds. 

Groups of three or more from the same school/district will receive a 10% discount per person ($1395) – ask a colleague to join you this summer!

Tuition in full is due by May 15th, 2018.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations before May 20th receive a full refund minus a $100 administrative charge. Cancellations after May 20th will receive a 50% refund.  

Cancellations after July 1, 2018 receive no refund unless the space can be filled with another registrant from our waiting list.
